There Will Be Dough

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 17, 2026

Overview

There Will Be Dough (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website therewillbedough.com and runs a mobile pizza pop-up that takes pre-orders, bookings, and walk-up orders. This policy explains what information we collect from you, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using our site or placing an order, you agree to the practices described here.

What We Collect

We try to collect only what we need. The categories below cover everything we knowingly receive:

  • Contact details you give us when placing an order or booking: name, email address, and an optional mobile phone number.
  • Order details: items you ordered, pickup code, order timestamp, optional notes you typed for the kitchen, and callout name.
  • Payment information: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We do retain Stripe-issued identifiers (e.g. session id, payment intent id, last 4 of the card) so we can issue refunds and reconcile.
  • Booking inquiries: details you submit through our booking form (event date, party size, location, message).
  • Newsletter / Dough Alerts: your email if you opt in to be notified about future drops.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, and general device information collected via standard server logs and our analytics provider.

How We Use It

  • To process and fulfill your order and send you a receipt.
  • To email you the pickup address and pickup code after successful payment.
  • To text you (only if you opt in) when your order is ready for pickup.
  • To respond to booking inquiries and customer support.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and other technical or security issues.
  • To improve the site and our service by analyzing aggregate, non-identifying usage data.

SMS Notifications

We collect mobile phone numbers when you place an order, solely to send you order-ready SMS notifications. We do not share or sell mobile information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

SMS messages are sent by Twilio on our behalf. Message and data rates may apply; message frequency varies based on your order activity. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to a message from us. For help, reply HELP or email hello@therewillbedough.com.

Providing a phone number is always optional — you can complete an order without one and we will only contact you by email.

Payments

All payments are processed by Stripe. Your card information is sent directly to Stripe over an encrypted connection. Stripe's use of your information is governed by their own privacy policy.

Cookies & Analytics

We group the trackers we use into two categories:

  • Strictly necessary. Short-lived first-party storage (cart, session, pickup code) that the site needs to function, plus Vercel Analytics, which counts page views without cookies or cross-site identifiers. These are always on.
  • Analytics. Google Analytics and Metricool, which help us understand aggregate site usage (which menu items get attention, how people find drops). They set cookies on your browser. We do not use them to build an advertising profile of you, and we do not use advertising cookies on our checkout or order pages.

You can opt out of the Analytics category at any time via the Your Privacy Choices link in our site footer. Opting out turns Google Analytics and Metricool off and clears the cookies they set on this site.

We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid opt-out under California law (CCPA/CPRA). If your browser sends GPC, we treat your visit as opted out of Analytics automatically — no banner action needed.

You can also prevent cookies through your browser settings; some site features (cart persistence in particular) may not work as expected if you do.

Information Sharing

We share information only with vendors who help us run the service:

  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Twilio — SMS delivery (only if you provide a phone number).
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (receipts, pickup details, booking responses).
  • Google Firebase — backend storage and authentication for the order database.
  • Vercel — web hosting and logs.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to lawful requests by public authorities, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of There Will Be Dough or others. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share mobile information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Retention & Deletion

We keep order records for as long as needed to fulfill the order, handle refunds or disputes, comply with tax and accounting obligations, and for legitimate business records. You can request that we delete your contact information at any time by emailing hello@therewillbedough.com; we will honor reasonable requests subject to any legal retention requirements (for example, financial records we are required to retain).

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information — including the right to access, correct, delete, port, or limit how we use it. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@therewillbedough.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

California residents. Under the CCPA/CPRA, you can opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We don't sell personal information for money, and we don't share it for advertising profiling. To turn off analytics cookies that could otherwise be classified as “sharing,” use the Your Privacy Choices link in our site footer, or enable Global Privacy Control in your browser — we honor it as a valid opt-out. You also have rights to know what we've collected, to correct it, to delete it, and to be free from discrimination for exercising any of these rights.

To unsubscribe from marketing email, use the unsubscribe link in any email we send or visit our unsubscribe page. To stop SMS notifications, reply STOP to any text from us.

Security

We use industry-standard administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security; if we ever learn of a security incident that affects you, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

Children

Our service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top and, for material changes, take additional steps as required by law (for example, an email notice).
